about hope

our foundations
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness"
2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)
Jesus answered, ‘It is written: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”’
Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Colossians 3:16 (NIV)

Word-Centred
We see the Bible as God’s Word, central to our lives individually and as a church.
(2 Tim 3:16, Matt 4:4, Col 3:16)
"And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."
Ephesians 2:22 (NIV)
"Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy."
1 Corinthians 14:1 (NIV)
‘“In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Acts 2:17 (NIV)

Spirit-Filled
We are expectant of the Holy Spirit’s ongoing power, presence, and activity in our lives and church gatherings.
(Eph 2:22, 1 Cor 14:1, Acts 2:17)
"...if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant."
Colossians 1:23 (NIV)
"Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand."
1 Corinthians 15:1 (NIV)
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed – a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’"
Romans 1:16-17 (NIV)

Gospel-Saturated
We rejoice in and are formed by the gospel (good news) of God’s grace in sending Jesus to rescue us.
(Col 1:23, 1 Cor 15:1, Rom 1:16-17)
our ways

Growing in Celebration
The good news gives us reason to be the most joyful people on earth, even when times are tough. We seek to grow in whole-hearted gratitude and praise in every part of life.
(Ps 100:1-2, Phil 4:4, 1 Pet 1:8)

Growing in Commitment
God’s Word shows that the local church is central in God’s Kingdom purposes, so we seek to commit our time, talents, and resources to strengthen it.
(Acts 2:42, Rom 12:6-8, 1 Pet 4:10)

Growing in Prayer
We seek to saturate all that we do in prayer, both individually and corporately, trusting that God has ordained it to be paramount.
(Phil 4:6, 1 Thess 5:17, Jas 5:16)

Growing in Compassion
We seek to grow in loving and caring for those in need rather than standing in judgement over them.
(Prov 14:31, Mic 6:8, Matt 25:35-36)

Growing in Service
We want to serve others with humility and joy, growing to become like Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve.
(Matt 20:26, Gal 5:13, Phil 2:3-4)

Growing in Hospitality
With hearts transformed by the welcome of Jesus, we seek to welcome others into our homes and lives, cultivating community where grace is experienced and lives are changed.
(Rom 12:13, Heb 13:2, 1 Pet 4:9)

Growing in Courageous Faith
Trusting God’s goodness, we boldly step out in faith—sharing the gospel, giving generously, going where He leads, living courageously for Him.
(Josh 1:9, Acts 4:29, Heb 11:1,6)
