a picture of
new life

Going under the water symbolises leaving the old lifebehind, while rising again celebrates new life, forgiveness and hope found in Jesus.

What is baptism?
Baptism is an important step for anyone who has chosen to follow Jesus. It’s a way of publicly declaring your faith and celebrating thenew life that Jesus gives. In the Bible, people who put their trust in Jesus were baptised as a sign that their old life was gone and a new life had begun. Baptism doesn’t make someone a Christian - it’s a response to the saving grace of Jesus and a declaration that He is now Lord and Saviour.
Who can get baptised?
Anyone who has chosen to follow Jesus and wants to publicly declare their faith.
Do I need to have everything sorted first?
No. Baptism is not about being perfect - it’s about putting your trust in Jesus and choosing to follow Him.
What happens during a baptism?
During a Sunday service, you’ll be asked a couple of simple questions about your faith and then gently lowered under the water and brought back up again as a celebration of new life in Jesus.
What should I wear?
Wear casual, modest clothes you don’t mind getting wet, and bring a change of clothes for afterwards.
Can my friends and family come?
Absolutely - we’d love them to celebrate with you. Baptisms are joyful moments for the whole church family.
I still have questions - can I talk to someone?
Of course. We’d love to chat, answer questions and help you explore whether baptism is your next step.
