At Hope, we aim to build church the way they did in the Bible. In New Testament churches there were ‘elders’ (also called pastors), men who took the ultimate responsibility for leading, teaching, caring for and protecting the church.
We also have a number of key men and women overseeing departments in the life of the church, some of who you can see below.
PASTORS / ELDERS
Tom and Sarah have three young children and moved to Ipswich in 2014. Tom works full time for Hope Church and also leads Sent, a movement of 18-30s across Relational Mission. Sarah heads up our midweek Tots groups for parents and toddlers.

Tim and Esme Virgo moved to Ipswich in 2015 and have three young children. Tim works full time for the Church; responsible for Pastoral Care and LifeGroups. Esme is a key member of the Pastoral Care team.

Maurice and Rachel have 4 children and have lived in Ipswich since 2012. Maurice works part time for Hope Church and part time for our family of churches, Relational Mission. Rachel heads up Women of Hope, a ministry for women.
Apostolic care of other churches in Relational Mission
Len and Ann South have been part of Hope Church since 2012. Ann is retired and Len is a solicitor.

Bebs works part time as the finance coordinator at Hope Church. Click here for more information on how you can give.
Chris works part time for Hope Church and leads the worship team. Chris is married to Becky and they have two children. He is also an accomplished singer song-writer, having released two worship albums.
Kirsten works part time for Hope Church, heading up Legacy, our thriving youth work, which has gatherings on Sundays and Fridays
Matt works full time for Hope Church and is responsible for our graphics & communications, making sure our Sunday mornings run well and handling bookings of the centre.
